How fragile

Recorded May-September 2007

I built this, not intentionally
But through wrong choices, wrong directions
I’m still here despite all my fears
Insincere, in exile
There’s nothing left to burn
We’re crashing

I’m getting average grey
I’m crying words of anxiety
I’m hunting grains of gold
But all I find are new addictions
Maybe it’s about time to retire?
Smallest change and I go under

No rail can keep this journey straight
No, no rail can keep this train on track
I’m not here, though you can see me
And I know this feeling from somewhere
The gun has gone off and I’m stumbling

I’m getting average grey
I’m crying words of anxiety
I’m hunting grains of gold
But all I find are new addictions
Maybe it’s about time to retire?
Smallest change and I go under

How fragile…
How stupid I am
That let you take me under
